All the children in this family were baptised at Steeple Barton St.Mary and the parish register showed their parents as Sampson andn Mary KING(S). Sampson and Mary are almost certainly those buried in Steeple Barton St.Mary in 1721 and 1743 respectively but I have been unable to find their marriage. The only Sampson KING of the right age appearing in the Oxfordshire baptism regisiters is the one born 1660 in Appleton, and although this is not 100% certain, I have assumed it to be correct u til further evidence emerges. I have speculated that Mary was probably over twenty when she gave birth to her first child and not over forty when she had her last, and on the basis of thuis I have estimated her birth year as being circa 1679.
