He lived with his parents wherever they were posted and was sent to school in England at the age of 13. He arrived in the UK on the 2nd September 1936 to attend Rossall School in Fleetwood, Lancashire. He travelled on his own! His last recorded trip to the UK arrived at Southampton from Barbados on the 9th October 1939 on his way back to school. When he left school he went up to Downing College, Cambridge to read Law. He was an oarsman and rowed for the college. At some point he joined up having been in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and became a pilot. He died when his plane crashed in Cleveland, England on the 28th April 1943 and is buried at Thornaby-on-Tees Cemetery Plot O, Row T, Grave 19. His death is registered Jun Qtr 1943, Cleveland, Yorkshire North Riding, 9d, 449.
