Text: Address given at the time of baptisms of children in 1817, 1824 and 1827 is Nant-Yr-Ystrad. This address also appears - see below - on the 1841 census for the family. However Nant-Yr-Ystrad does not appear on the Tithe Maps of the parish, produced in 1847. It seems from the route taken by the 1841 census enumerator that Nant-Yr-Ystrad must have been somewhere between Bwllfa, Gelli and Bodringallt - in fact the site shown on the 1847 Tithe Map as Tyr Yr Eglwys (Church House) Farm. As the address given in the PR at baptisms of Richard and Mary's children in 1814, 1832 and 1838 was 'Tyr Yr Eglwys', 'Church House' or Church House, Ton' is seems highly probable that the family remained in the same home - just opposite the church in Ton, throughout this period, and that it was variously referred to as Nant Yr Ystrad, Tyr Yr Eglwys and Church House.
