Citation details: Copy of the Charter received from Steve 18 Oct 2013 Text: Steve cites as his source the book "Original Charters and Materials for a History of Neath and its Abbey" (1845) by George Grant Francis. See image of Charter below. It would appear that both Rhys and his father Ievan had been burgesses of the Town but had been disenfranchised. Following an appeal to the Sheriff & Chancellor of Glamorgan, the latter issued a charter ordering their reinstatement as burgesses and freemen of the town.
